Bachelor's in Biochemistry
Introduction
Biochemistry is a Bachelor program taught at Redeemer College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Redeemer University’s Biochemistry is a Bachelor of Science degree program offered as an honours major. Students study the molecular structure and potential uses of nucleic acids, proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates, including how they work and what happens when they do not. Redeemer University also frames biochemistry through a biblical perspective, with attention to ethical and philosophical questions related to scientific work.
The program includes a Core Curriculum made up of 10 courses taken by every student. Many classes include a lab component from as early as first-year, and students develop critical thinking, analytical skills, and scientific writing in courses such as Genetics, Advanced Techniques in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and Toxicology. Redeemer’s pathogen research lab supports safe, professional study of bacteria and viruses, and senior biochemistry students have bench space for final-year research projects.
