Bachelor's in Biology

Biology is a Bachelor program taught at Redeemer College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Redeemer University’s Biology is a Bachelor of Science degree offered as an honours major, a major, and a minor. Students study biology courses that build from first-year scientific background in areas such as ecology, cell biology, and organisms, then move into critical thinking, analytical work, and scientific writing through courses including Cell and Molecular Biology, Genetics and Microbiology.

Biology includes lab components, including participation in real-world experiments using professional-grade equipment. On campus, students can study areas such as genetics, ecology, zoology, and toxicology using facilities including the Whaley Teaching Garden, a rooftop greenhouse, and fully-equipped science labs. Senior biology students have their own bench space for final-year research projects.

The program is designed for students who want to understand living organisms “from molecules to human bodies to ecosystems,” and it connects this study to a biblical worldview. Alumni go on to careers as lab technicians, optometrists, botanists/horticulturalists, natural resource managers, research assistants, medical doctors, clinical research managers, veterinarians, ecologists, and pharmaceutical sales representatives.
