Introduction

Environmental Studies is a Bachelor program taught at Redeemer College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Redeemer University’s Environmental Studies is a Bachelor of Arts degree offered as a major and as a minor. Students study nature and how humans interact with God’s creation, with a focus on philosophy, politics, and geography. The program emphasizes contemporary environmental issues and sustainability, using courses that connect environmental topics to economics, cultural geography, politics, and social movements.

Environmental Studies includes the Core Curriculum, a set of 10 courses every student takes. The program combines classroom learning with experiential work on Redeemer’s campus, including the Whaley Teaching Garden, a rooftop greenhouse, and fully-equipped science labs. Some science courses include field trips, and students can take summer courses at the Au Sable Institute of Environmental studies. Internship opportunities exist through organizations like A Rocha, Au Sable, a fish hatchery, the Royal Botanical Gardens, and World Renew.
