Introduction

Project Management is a program taught at Vancouver Community College, Canada. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.

IT Project Management (Post-Degree Diploma) at Vancouver Community College helps students learn strategies and processes for planning, executing, and monitoring IT projects. The program covers planning and business requirements, project stakeholder management and business communication, project scope planning, and project schedule, cost, and quality management. It also includes risk management and quality assurance, procurement and contracts in IT contexts, and information security throughout project lifecycles.

Vancouver Community College delivers the program full-time through a mix of class-based and online instruction. Students work through four academic terms, each four months long, with one term break between terms two and three. Instruction uses lectures, active learning strategies, online activities, group activities, and projects. The curriculum includes topics such as Agile and Waterfall methodologies, cloud technologies, and ITIL Foundation principles.

This program leads to a Post-Degree Diploma. Graduates can apply project management principles to technology initiatives, manage procurement, contracts, and stakeholder engagement in IT contexts, and conduct data analysis and business analysis for technology projects.
