M.Sc. Molecular Life Sciences
Introduction
M.Sc. Molecular Life Sciences is a 2 years Masters program taught at Friedrich-Schiller-University, Jena, Germany. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time and part-time options. To successfully obtain M.Sc. Molecular Life Sciences from Friedrich-Schiller-University you are required to complete 120 credit hours. After completion of M.Sc. Molecular Life Sciences you will be able to further continue for advance studies or start career as Biotechnologist, BioChemist, Microbiologist, Biologist, Research Chemist, Materials Scientist, Clinical Geneticist.
Students in this Master's program will learn to conduct independent academic work in the modern, interdisciplinary field of Molecular Life Sciences. Key issues in genetics, cell, and developmental biology will be discussed and critically analyzed. The primary focus of these analyses is - in both a theoretical and a practical sense - molecular network analyses on various levels (genomic, proteomic, and metabolomics).
In the first year of the program, students will already take three advanced courses from the areas of developmental biology, cell biology, molecular genetics, system biology, and biophysics in addition to the core courses required for all students. In the second year, students will gain more profound knowledge and understanding of a specialization area of their choice by completing both an internship focusing on methods and directed research in a project internship.
