Introduction

Digitale Technologien im Maschinenbau is a Masters program taught at Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen, Germany. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1–2 years) options.

The Master’s programme “Maschinenbau – Rechnerunterstützte Produkterstellung” lets you deepen knowledge from a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on digitalisation and computer-aided product creation in product development and production processes. You choose between two specialisation directions: Engineering or Digitalisierung/Industrie 4.0. Course content covers computer-aided design and sizing methods, simulation, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in mechanical engineering, or digitalised production chains.

The programme runs for 3 semesters. The first two semesters include a central lecture block with shared core topics, followed by specialisation blocks for Engineering and Industrie 4.0. The programme ends with a Masterthesis in the 3rd semester. Hochschule Albstadt-Sigmaringen also offers an option to complete a semester abroad via partner and visiting universities and states that a promotion can follow after the Master’s degree.
