Introduction
Medizintechnik (B.Eng.) is a Bachelor program taught at Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences, Germany. Intake: Wintersemester. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (7 Semester) options.
The Bachelor of Engineering in Medizintechnik (Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences) prepares students to work between medicine, engineering, and informatics. Students study engineering fundamentals such as construction, informatics, electrical engineering, mathematics, physics, and chemistry in the first two semesters. From the third semester, the curriculum focuses on medical technology, including anatomy, physiology, medical device engineering, and the development and manufacture of medical products.
Delivery is full-time with “Verbundstudium (Ausbildung plus Studium)”. The programme includes practical study phases and allows a Praxissemester option. In the fifth semester, students complete a 18-week practice phase in a company in medical technology; alternatively, the practice phase can be completed alongside the studies. Labs and practical modules cover topics such as biomechanics, a chemistry polymer practical, medical device technology practicals, CAD construction, and additive manufacturing.
The programme ends with a Bachelor thesis in the seventh semester. The Rosenheim University of Applied Sciences also describes choice-focused elements through subject-specific elective modules (Fachbezogene Wahlpflichtmodule (FWPM)).
