Master's in Erziehungswissenschaft – Management und Forschung im Bildungswesen

Erziehungswissenschaft – Management und Forschung im Bildungswesen is a Masters program taught at Universität Erfurt, Germany. Intake: Wintersemester. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 semesters) options.

The Master’s program “Erziehungswissenschaft – Management und Forschung im Bildungswesen” focuses on combining in-depth educational science knowledge with new approaches for market-oriented and future-oriented pedagogy. Students analyze current social problem areas and reflect their consequences for educational science practice. The program connects educational science theories with empirical methods.

Universität Erfurt structures the degree as 120 ECTS, split into a three-semester study phase (90 ECTS) and one semester for the Master’s thesis (30 ECTS). The program is offered predominantly in face-to-face teaching and is not designed as an online program. Pflichtmodule include research methods, evaluation, educational monitoring and management, and a practice module.

The degree is designed to prepare graduates for education-oriented work in public and private settings in out-of-school education and the science area. Universität Erfurt states that graduates work in coordinating and leading professional fields such as out-of-school education facilities, special and social-pedagogical institutions, adult education, and education-technology companies.

The minimum requirements for admission in Erziehungswissenschaft – Management und Forschung im Bildungswesen at Universität Erfurt for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

Qualification

• an academically relevant Bachelor-, Master- or Diplom degree with an extent of 60 Leistungspunkten in Educational Sciences, comparable with the Bachelor minor Educational Sciences (Erziehungswissenschaft) of Universität Erfurt
• or a degree in a non-relevant subject with at least 6 Semestern plus proof of two years of relevant work experience in at least one of the work and research fields of the Master’s program

Language requirement

• It is required that applicants whose mother tongue is not German must submit proof of German language skills at level B1 with the application.
