Introduction

Diploma in Software Engineering is a Diploma program taught at Brickfields Asia College, Malaysia. Intake: February, May, & September. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 Years 3 Months) options.

The Diploma in Software Engineering at Brickfields Asia College is a practical programme that prepares students to design, develop, and deliver software solutions. Modules cover fundamentals such as Problem Solving and Programming, Object-Oriented Programming Fundamentals, and Data Structures & Algorithms, plus core software engineering topics like Systems Analysis & Design, Software Project Management Fundamentals, Software Design, Software Testing & Quality Assurance, and Secure Software.

Teaching is delivered full-time and assessed through coursework & exams. Assessment uses a mix of coursework (40%), final examinations (30%), and practical assessments & projects (30%). Students also complete a compulsory Industrial Training placement, and they produce a Final Year Project.

This diploma leads to career roles such as Software Developer / Programmer, Web Developer, Mobile App Developer, Systems Analyst, Junior Database Administrator, QA Analyst / Software Tester, Technical Support Specialist, and Secure Software Developer. It can also lead to direct entry into Year 2 of Bachelor programmes with a minimum CGPA of 2.0.

Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission in Diploma in Software Engineering at Brickfields Asia College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

program specific academic requirment set by Brickfields Asia College.
English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Brickfields Asia College as pre-requiste for admission in Diploma in Software Engineering.

You qualify with ANY of the following:

SPM with at least 3 credits (including Mathematics); OR
IGCSE/O-Level with Grade C in 3 subjects (including Mathematics); OR
UEC with Grade B in 3 subjects (including Mathematics); OR
STPM / STAM / SKM Level 3 / Relevant MQF Level 3 Certificate; OR
Any equivalent qualification recognised by the Malaysian Government.

Those without a pass in Mathematics can be admitted but required to take pre-requisite Mathematics subject. Forecast / Trial Examination results are accepted.
