B.S (Chemistry)
Introduction
B.S (Chemistry) is a 4 years Bachelor program taught at Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad, Pakistan. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options. To successfully obtain B.S (Chemistry) from Allama Iqbal Open University you are required to complete 132 credit hours. After completion of B.S (Chemistry) you will be able to further continue for advance studies or start career as BioChemist, Research Chemist.
There has been a continuous effort at the national level to upgrade the standard of college education. It is realized that our existing BSc program does not meet international standards. The Higher Education Commission has recommended a four-year BS program to be followed by a two-year MS program.
The BS degree is considered equivalent to MSc Chemistry. However, BS degree holders are given preference for the relevant job over MSc graduates as their knowledge is more focused on chemistry. It is a major structural change in our existing educational system.
The country will enormously benefit from the fruits of this change in terms of improved and balanced knowledge and skill.
Admission Requirements
The minimum requirements for admission in B.S (Chemistry) at Allama Iqbal Open University for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:
- program specific academic requirment set by Allama Iqbal Open University.
- English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Allama Iqbal Open University as pre-requiste for admission in B.S (Chemistry).

A candidate holding second class F.Sc. Degree with Chemistry as one of the major subjects is eligible to apply for the admission.
DAE (Diploma Holders) in Chemical Engineering / Chemical Technology from a Polytechnic Institute.
A-Level with Chemistry or equivalent.
