Drama & Theatre
Introduction
Drama & Theatre is a program taught at Aberystwyth University, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Aberystwyth University’s Drama and Theatre course encourages questions and experimental spaces for things to happen and to develop. You can experiment with topics, practices, and production work. The course introduces a range of historical and contemporary theatre forms, from scripted drama to site-specific performances, from Shakespeare to experiments with new media.
Aberystwyth University combines practical and theoretical exploration. You study and critically engage with contemporary practices across theatre-in-play, site- and place-specific performance, environmental theatre, and devised performances. As the course develops, the focus increases on your practice as an independent artist, using the knowledge and skills you build to create work. The course includes two performance and production projects each year.
