Introduction

Interior Design is a Bachelor program taught at Bath Spa University, UK. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Bath Spa University’s BA (Hons) Interior Design develops practical and professional skills for interior design careers. The course focuses on contemporary design issues and on producing work that is ethical, inclusive, and sustainable. You develop design proposals for interior spaces such as restaurants, hotels, and community centres, and you learn how interior design can adapt spaces to meet users’ needs.

Studying Interior Design is mainly studio-based. You work on design projects of your own, in groups, and with external clients. The course includes live briefs, studio making, industry-standard software for Computer Aided Design (CAD), and art and design workshop sessions such as 3D printing, metalwork, and wood. Assessment is 100% coursework, with tutorials, seminars, and group critiques. You also complete an extended essay in the final year.

You can take the degree as a single honours undergraduate programme, with a four-year full time option that includes either an Integrated Foundation Year in Art and Design or a Professional Placement Year. Bath Spa University’s BA (Hons) Interior Design degree has SBID accreditation. The course can lead to roles such as interior designer, space planner, and project manager.
