Introduction

Brunel University Uxbridge’s Automotive Engineering BEng (Hons) combines mechanical engineering fundamentals with specialised study of automotive development and manufacture. You cover topics across vehicle design and performance, engine and transmission systems, materials, structures, and safety. You also gain practice troubleshooting engineering problems linked to construction and testing processes.

The course follows a structure of compulsory modules plus a major independent project. It is delivered as 3 years full-time or 4 years full-time with a one-year professional placement. You use motorsport workshop facilities, access 24-hour specialist software for engineering design at dedicated computer clusters, and study through access to the Centre for Advanced Powertrain and Fuels (CAPF).
