Master's in Earth Sciences
Introduction
Earth Sciences is a Masters program taught at Royal Holloway and Bedford New College, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1 year full time or 2 years part time) options.
The Earth Sciences MSc by Research at Royal Holloway is a research degree that offers an original research project. Students refine research skills and develop advanced scientific and technical knowledge through work supervised by academic research staff. Students contribute to the Earth Sciences research culture and develop a project proposal through discussion with a chosen supervisor across research themes.
The degree culminates in a supervised independent research project assessed by an internal and external examiner and a thesis, plus an oral presentation at the annual Postgraduate Research Student Conference. Students also attend Earth Sciences research seminars, and may attend taught courses from specialist 3rd or 4th year undergraduate taught modules if appropriate. Progress is reviewed at four and eight months by a panel.
