Introduction

Computer Science, BA (Hons) and MEng is a Masters program taught at University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Computer Science at University of Cambridge brings together disciplines including mathematics, engineering, the natural sciences, psychology and linguistics, and it covers modern computer science along with underlying theory and foundations in economics, law and business. Students take a 3-year BA honours option or a 4-year option that includes a Masters, leading to a BA and Master of Engineering (MEng) degree.

Teaching includes lectures, practical classes and small-group supervisions. Students are taught practical skills in programming (in languages such as OCaml, Java, C/C++ and Prolog) and hardware systems (such as chip design). Group projects involve working with and presenting to external companies, and assessment is typically through 3 hour written examinations, with some assessed coursework in some years. Students also complete a substantial project and a 10,000 to 12,000 word dissertation.
