Introduction

Educational Leadership & Secondary Education is a program taught at Alabama A&M University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Educational Leadership & Secondary Education program in the Department of Educational Leadership and Secondary Education provides P-12 undergraduate and graduate teacher candidates and other school personnel with professional and discipline-based knowledge, abilities, and dispositions. It focuses on helping all students learn and developing skills to lead, with the goal of leading to a State of Alabama Professional Educators’ certificate.

At the undergraduate level, students can choose Secondary Education Concentrations and Tracks (field disciplines) offered through the department or college that houses the “pure” major. Completing the course of study successfully with a Secondary Ed concentration leads to a Class B teaching certificate. Students with a bachelor’s degree and a teaching certificate may pursue master’s programs with an M.Ed. degree and a Class A teaching certificate.
