Bachelor's in Art History
Introduction
Art History is a Bachelor program taught at Assumption College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Art History at Assumption College is an undergraduate minor in Art History. Students study how society shapes art and how art affects society. The curriculum focuses on analyzing diverse styles and movements and understanding their context.
The minor is a six-course program. It includes drawing and graphic design options, a choice of required art history courses such as History of Western Art, Healthy Perspectives, or Art Ancient and Modern: The Question of Beauty, plus additional art history courses at the 300 level or higher. Teaching is done entirely by professors, with all classes taught by professors and none by teaching assistants.
The program connects classroom learning with experiential learning. Students can participate in study abroad at Assumption’s Rome Campus, with daily and weekend-long excursions, and they can also take part in internship opportunities supported by the Denecker Career Development & Internship Center.
