Bachelor's in Chemistry
Introduction
Chemistry is a Bachelor program taught at Assumption College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Assumption College offers a Chemistry undergraduate major that covers organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry, and explains how these areas connect to each other and to other scientific disciplines. The program is organized around foundational coursework in these five areas, with laboratories designed to support practical experimentation and instrumentation.
Students have opportunities to perform research with Assumption faculty and at renowned research laboratories throughout the academic year and during the summer. Laboratory facilities are provided on campus through the Testa Science Center. The program includes required science and mathematics courses, plus chemistry electives and a research component tied to CHE 480 Seminar in Chemistry or to CHE 491 or CHE 492 when research is undertaken on campus.
The curriculum supports multiple next steps, including preparation for graduate study in chemistry, biochemistry, or other areas of science, industrial employment, teaching science, and professional study in medicine, dentistry, or other health sciences. For the B.S. option, the program is an American Chemical Society certified pathway, which is described as evidence of completion of a rigorous chemistry program approved by a national scientific organization.
