Introduction

Communication and Media is a Bachelor program taught at Assumption College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Communication and Media at Assumption College is a B.A. major through the D'Amour College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the English Department. Students analyze multimedia forms such as television, radio, websites, and film productions as constructed texts. They also develop skills through rhetorical analysis, effective style, critical thinking, and ethical questioning, using oral, written, and visual communications in traditional and new media.

The curriculum includes required gateway courses in argument and persuasion, journalism, and media analysis, plus electives in literature and three capstones. Production courses allow students to create podcasts and radio or TV shows, while workshops support writing in journalism, fiction, poetry, and autobiography. Students also collaborate with classmates to produce a project for a live audience and may complete an internship (or two) as part of the practicum.
