Introduction

Earth and Environmental Sciences: Concentration Geography is a Bachelor program taught at Austin Peay State University, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

Earth and Environmental Sciences: Concentration Geography is a geography-focused undergraduate program that uses hands-on and experiential learning. Students study earth system processes, environmental management and restoration, ecosystem and atmospheric dynamics, and the relationship between people and place. Course topics also cover biogeography, climatology, environmental geography, geographic information systems, remote sensing, regional geography, rural geography, and land use policy.

The program encourages own data collection, hypotheses testing, analysis of samples, and presentation of findings. Geography majors have an embedded GIS curriculum and a close connection to the APSU GIS Center, with opportunities to work on real-world projects.

Students also have undergraduate research opportunities, plus access to study-abroad and service learning and involvement in GeoClub. The program prepares students for careers in environmental management, geological sciences, spatial analysis, disaster management and response, and development work, and it supports entrance into graduate studies.
