Introduction

MSW - Master of Social Work Advanced Standing is a Masters program taught at Capella University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The Master of Social Work – Advanced Standing at Capella University is a competency-based program for advanced generalist social work practice. Students learn to use a strengths perspective when assessing issues and developing interventions, with coursework focused on culturally responsive practice, psychopathology and advanced interventions, clinical supervision and leadership, and systems analysis of social work practice.

Learning is competency-based and includes three practicums or internships with opportunities to work directly with clients, individuals and families, serve communities and organizations, or advocate for systemic change. Courses include seven core courses, two elective courses, and three practicum courses/internships, for a total of 48 quarter credits.
