Secure Engineering of Operational Technology and Systems (BS)
Introduction
Secure Engineering of Operational Technology and Systems (BS) is a Bachelor program taught at Capitol Technology University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Capitol Technology University offers a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Secure Engineering of Operational Technology and Systems. The program prepares students to design, operate, secure, and manage operational technology (OT) and cyber-physical systems that support critical infrastructure across industries such as energy, manufacturing, transportation, water systems, defense, and industrial automation. Students follow a multidisciplinary curriculum grounded in engineering, cybersecurity, computing, industrial control systems, and systems thinking.
Learning includes laboratory experiences, simulation tools, engineering design projects, and real-world systems integration challenges. Students work with industrial networking architectures and communication protocols, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), SCADA systems, embedded controllers, and industrial automation. The curriculum also covers vulnerability analysis, risk assessment, and resilience strategies for OT environments, along with modeling, simulation, testing, and performance analysis. It includes a senior capstone design sequence focused on operational technology and infrastructure security challenges.
