Diploma in Aviation Management
Introduction
Aviation Management is a Diploma program taught at Coffeyville Community College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.
The Aviation Management diploma trains students in a northern climate and combines flight training with academic courses. It includes a block transfer of pilot training credentials earned at Northerners Taking Flight (NTF) (or another recognized flight school) that equals one year or 30 credits, plus additional credits earned at Yukon University. Students are expected to earn a commercial pilot license while concurrently earning academic credits, and they can enter with some pilot training or a completed commercial license.
Students earn a Diploma of Aviation Management after successfully completing Transport Canada’s Commercial Pilot License, Yukon First Nation core competency, and a total of 10 academic courses (30 credits) over a two-year period, plus a 40-hour, non-credit course in Advanced Wilderness and Remote First Aid/CPR-C.
Ground school is completed in a flexible manner, with most ground school courses during the evening at NTF, while flight training takes place during daylight hours (except night time flight training). Flight training components are organized directly with NTF.
