Introduction

Genomics, Bioinformatics is a program taught at Davidson College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Genomics and Bioinformatics at Davidson College builds students’ understanding of biology using bioinformatic and genomic methods to ask questions, collect data, and solve problems. Students analyze complex datasets to discern patterns and detect connections between biological events, and they communicate complex, data-rich information clearly and concisely.

Students can study genomics through a Genomics Minor or pursue a genomics or bioinformatics Interdisciplinary Major through the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies. Course examples include BIO 343, a lab-only experience tied to a real genome sequencing project with sequencing performed off-site, plus CSC 209 | BIO 209, an introduction to programming for biological datasets and genomic data analysis.
