German Studies

German Studies is a program taught at Davidson College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

The German Studies Major and Minor at Davidson College prepares students to become proficient in the German language and to study German-speaking literature, culture, and history. The program emphasizes critical analysis of these traditions.

German placement is based on an online placement test administered by Davidson for students who studied German before entering but did not receive college credit. Students may be placed in German 250 or 260, German 201, or German 102, and in some cases may be recommended to begin in German 101. Course work can include online work and participation in AT sessions, as described for Elementary German II.
