Introduction
Psychology is a program taught at Davidson College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Psychology at Davidson College is a major that combines the scientific approach with the study of human and animal behavior, and the physiological and cognitive processes that underlie behavior. Students learn to apply psychological knowledge to address practical problems in contexts ranging from the family to the clinic to businesses. Curriculum development aligns with the American Psychological Association’s guidelines for undergraduate psychology programs.
Coursework bridges the humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences. Students develop skills in critical thinking and in reading psychological research. Some courses include research and analysis of development, culture and psychological processes, and experiments on the effects of drugs on human and animal behavior. In the behavioral pharmacology-focused course, students conduct experiments, write scientifically, and propose a novel line of research as a research proposal.
