Introduction

Master in Counselling & Clinical Psychology is a Masters program taught at Florida Keys Community College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1–2 years) options.

The Master of Arts in Counselling and Clinical Psychology is a full-time graduate program within a tri-campus MA and PhD structure. The field is Clinical Psychology, and students complete required courses in psychopathology, psychological assessment, psychotherapy, ethics, clinical research design, statistical techniques, and applied interventions in clinical psychology. The program also includes a practicum in psychological interventions and a research thesis.

Students follow a sequence of practicum placements focused on professional practice and success in the APPIC Match. The first practicum takes place internally at UTSC’s Health and Wellness Centre, with training in interviewing techniques, reflective listening, rapport building, and other core clinical skills. Students also run multiple group therapy interventions and provide cognitive-behavioural interventions for individual clients, then participate in the GTA Practicum Match.

The MA is designed for applicants interested in working as researchers or practitioners in psychological and educational settings. It enables students to apply for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario as a Psychological Associate. The MA is not intended to be a terminal master’s degree, and completion of Master’s requirements is required for consideration for admission to the PhD program.
