Counseling B.A./M.A./M.Ed Program

Counseling B.A./M.A./M.Ed Program is a Masters program taught at Goucher College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (60-hour program) options.

This program offers an M.A. or M.Ed in School Counseling through Loyola School of Education. Students study school counseling with preparation to serve, lead, and advocate for social justice and mental health in pre K-12 settings. The M.Ed includes school counseling electives; the M.A includes a master’s thesis in lieu of those electives.

Both degrees are certification-focused. Students complete a 60-hour program that includes school experience prior to graduation, with 9 credits in Practicum and Internship. Practicum is a supervised 100-hour in-school experience during a 15-week semester, followed by a supervised 600-hour internship that can run over two academic semesters or one academic semester. During these placements, students provide individual and small group counseling, classroom instruction, and direct and indirect student services.
