Bachelor's in Cinema and Media Studies
Introduction
Cinema and Media Studies is a Bachelor program taught at Hamilton College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Hamilton College’s Cinema and Media Studies Program blends film and media history and theory. Students explore the motion picture as an art form and as a way of thinking across boundaries. Courses cover major contributions to the history of cinema and media from across the globe, including how social and physical forces such as gender, ethnicity, religion, and the natural environment are represented in popular, independent, and avant-garde media.
Students learn to analyze films and other media by structure, approach, goals, social and political implications, and aesthetics, across genre, context, language, and geographical origin. They also apply knowledge of the development and history of cinema and media in written and spoken work, and they produce creative work in forms used in cinema and media studies. Many students use their learning creatively both on and off campus.
