Introduction

Music is a Bachelor program taught at Huntingdon College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.

The Music program at Huntingdon College prepares students for study in music theory, auditory skills such as sight-reading and ear training, music history, and participation in vocal or instrumental ensembles, including band or choir. Students can also pursue an educator preparation path for choral or instrumental music, or both, through Music Education options aligned with certification for P–12 teaching in either choral or instrumental music.

Learning includes weekly studio lessons with one-on-one instruction from experienced musician-professors. Students also build practice experience through participation in bands, choirs, and studio groups such as percussion, woodwinds, and brass. The program uses theory, voice, ear, and sight training facilities in Sybil Smith Hall, and includes piano proficiency training in Huntingdon’s Yamaha keyboard lab. Music Education majors complete Teacher Candidate clinical experiences.
