Bachelor's in Engineering Mechanics
Introduction
Engineering Mechanics is a Bachelor program taught at Lehigh University, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Engineering Mechanics at Lehigh University is an undergraduate major in engineering mechanics. Students study solid and fluid mechanics, engineering materials, product design and manufacturing, thermodynamics, and control systems. The program focuses on using engineering fundamentals and practical work through required and project-based courses.
All juniors take a manufacturing course that reflects a hands-on approach. Students use CAD software, rapid prototyping facilities, computer numerical control milling, and injection-molding machines. Teams collaborate with local middle-school students to design, simulate, fabricate, and produce a manufactured product. The course culminates in an annual expo where students compete and are judged on product design and effectiveness.
The program prepares students for careers where they design, create, and operate types of machinery. Graduates also manage systems for energy conversion, material transport, and the control of motions and forces. Graduates work across industries including aerospace, transportation, bioengineering, communications, electronics, computers, energy, environment, machinery, and manufacturing.
