Introduction

Engineering and Technology Management (DETM) is a program taught at Louisiana Tech University, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.

Engineering and Technology Management (DETM) at Louisiana Tech University is an applied doctorate for professionals who want to lead at the intersection of innovation, industry, and engineering. Students complete a research dissertation focused on a current problem or opportunity in their field, with an interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates advanced engineering with business strategy, project management, entrepreneurship, and organizational behavior.

The program includes guidance from the Program Coordinator, who advises students on required or recommended courses until they are ready to take EMGT 6113 (the research proposal class). Students then select a research advisor and work with an Advisory Committee of 3–5 faculty members.

Before research work, students pass a written qualifying examination (EMGT 6850) and an oral qualifying exam (EMGT 6860), and the dissertation process includes research dissertation completion plus one or more peer reviewed journal publications or conference proceedings accepted by graduation.
