Introduction
Architectural Drafting and Design is a Bachelor program taught at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Architectural Drafting and Design is an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and a Diploma that prepares you for work in architectural or engineering firms or in construction industry-related contracting, manufacturing, or distribution companies. You learn the principles of residential and commercial building technology and the drafting skills to apply them, using building design software such as CAD and Revit.
The program includes coursework that covers production of architectural construction drawings using design software, assessment of existing conditions of buildings and site layouts, calculation of material quantities and final costs of building projects, and creation and presentation of design concepts. Coursework for both the degree and diploma programs is reviewed by an advisory board comprised of local and regional industry members.
