Diploma in Nail Technician

Nail Technician is a Diploma program taught at Minnesota State Community and Technical College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (2 years) options.

The Nail Technician certificate program at Minnesota State Community and Technical College helps students learn to clean, condition, shape, reinforce, color, and enhance natural nails. It also covers how to apply and repair artificial nails. Students study dermatology, the growth and health of nails, and chemistry as it relates to manicuring, along with professional sanitation, safety, and customer service skills.

Training includes spa manicures and pedicures with hand and foot massages, flat and dimensional nail art, and UV light-cured acrylics and gel lacquers. Students spend hours at the on-campus salon in Wadena, and these hours count as clinical hours toward licensure. A required license preparation course supports readiness for the Minnesota State Board of Cosmetology’s licensure exams.
