Introduction

Early Childhood Educator Apprentice is a program taught at Nicolet Area Technical College, USA. Intake: Fall. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (3–4 years) options.

The Early Childhood Educator Apprentice at Nicolet Area Technical College prepares students to work as early childhood educators. Students learn to provide care and education for children in the birth-to-eight-years age range. The program covers safe and healthy play environments, guiding behavior, and planning and implementing learning experiences, along with cooperative work with staff and families.

The program combines hands-on fieldwork with related academic work through an apprenticeship training pathway. Learning is structured by terms, with required courses in foundations, health, safety, and nutrition, child development, guiding child behavior, differing abilities, infant and toddler development, early language and literacy, and family and community relationships. Students also complete Strengthening Families Training and receive specific certification training included in course content.
