Bachelor's in Art & Art History
Introduction
Art & Art History is a Bachelor program taught at Occidental College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
Occidental College’s Art & Art History undergraduate program helps you understand how visual culture shapes how people see themselves and the world. You study how images, objects, and spaces communicate across cultures and histories. Course topics include painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, and visual media, alongside close looking, creative problem solving, and visual analysis.
The program combines studio practice with critical study of global visual culture. You can focus through two paths: Studio Art or Art History. Studio Art emphasizes making work in media such as painting, sculpture, photography, printmaking, installation, and interdisciplinary practices. Art History emphasizes research, writing, and visual analysis across time and place. Art-making workshops appear within art history classes, and students can pursue internships, exhibit work, and apply for grants.
