2-D Art

2-D Art is a program taught at Peru State College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 Years) options.

2-D Art at Peru State College is an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts program offered as a minor. It focuses on building fluency in visual language and using the elements and principles of design to communicate messages to targeted audiences. Students complete studio and theoretical work that supports self-expressive interpretation of subjects and practice across a broad range of media and technologies.

Learning blends practical studio experiences with theoretical learning. The program includes studio space for creative exploration and specialized facilities such as a design lab with 20 iMacs, Adobe Creative Cloud software, and a large format printer. Students also have access to ceramics and sculpture facilities, which support wider art practice through multiple media and technologies.

The program connects to careers in 2-D Art roles such as illustrator, concept artist, 2-D animator, and children’s book illustrator. It also supports art education pathways through an art teacher career option listed under Art Careers.

Modules

The minimum requirements for admission in 2-D Art at Peru State College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

• program specific academic requirment set by Peru State College.
• English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Peru State College as pre-requiste for admission in 2-D Art.

• A digital portfolio of 10 - 12 examples of your strongest artwork. If you have drawings and/or paintings from life (still life / figure drawing) include: 2 - 4 of those as part of the 10 – 12 examples. Images include, but not limited to: painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, graphic design.
• A one-page essay describing: financial need, academic distinction, academic goals, degree major.
