Bachelor's in Biophysics
Introduction
Biophysics is a Bachelor program taught at Pitzer College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The Biophysics major at Pitzer College uses physics to describe biological systems. Students build models that explain how systems work, from the smallest molecules to the largest populations. The major focuses on creating frameworks based on key physical principles, testing those frameworks with physical experiments, and translating results into mathematical models.
Learning includes hands-on work through lab courses and participation in professors’ research groups. Students complete original research as part of a senior thesis. Coursework is organized through the intercollegiate Department of Natural Sciences, with classes and study space in the Nucleus science building, including labs, classrooms, offices, and a community greenhouse.
