Bachelor's in Cognitive Science
Introduction
Cognitive Science is a Bachelor program taught at Pitzer College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The Cognitive Science major at Pitzer College investigates how the mind learns, thinks, and acquires knowledge through an interdisciplinary program. Students study cognition using six core disciplines: Anthropology, Linguistics, Philosophy, Psychology, Neuroscience, and Computer Science. Course topics can include belief acquisition, language development, and the evolution of consciousness.
The major requires completion of at least 11 courses. Students take an introductory course, six breadth courses chosen from multiple areas (such as Philosophy of Mind, Development and Evolution, and Cognition and the Arts), and four upper-division depth courses selected from one or two of the areas above. Depth course guidance includes normally including at least one methods course and at least one writing-intensive seminar appropriate to the student’s specialization.
