Doctor of Health Science

The Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) is an online doctoral degree in health sciences. It emphasizes professional practice and prepares students to expand their impact in clinical practice, education, administration, or research. The degree includes core doctoral-level advanced courses and graduate health sciences electives.

All courses are completed online with no residency requirement. Students complete a final applied project guided by a doctoral consultant that addresses a challenge or need in health care policy, administration, higher education, or clinical practice. Purdue Global also notes that students can transfer up to 28 elective credits from a master’s degree.

To enroll in the DHSc program, you will need to provide a transcript indicating completion of a master's degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher from an accredited institution.

If your master’s degree is in a health or health care-related field, 3+ years of relevant professional experience in a health, health care, or related setting is required.

If your master’s degree is outside of a direct health or heath care-related field, 7 years of relevant professional experience in a health, health care, or related setting is required. Refer to the University Catalog or speak to an Advisor to learn more.
