Advanced Welding Processes Certificate

Students develop skills for technical welds and welding processes on different metal plates and pipes, including passing skill tests on pre-qualified joints on plate and structural steel as required of code welding by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the American Welding Society.

The certificate is earned after completing the Basic Welding Processes certificate and completing WEL-130, WEL-164, WEL-172, WEL-197, and MAT-702. The curriculum sequence includes Fall Semester I and Spring Semester I, with courses such as MAT-702 (with lecture and lab components) and multiple welding courses covering oxyacetylene welding, arc welding, advanced shielded metal arc welding II, and gas tungsten arc welding - tube.
