The Welding program at Southwestern Oregon Community College helps you train for hands-on work in welding and fabrication. You can pursue a two-year Welding, Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree, which provides training for entry-level employment and includes basic pipe welding and fitting skills. Instruction covers processes including oxy-fuel cutting, plasma, MIG, TIG, stick, and flux core. A new group of welding students starts every Fall Term. Students must have equipment and tools by the second week of the term, and instructors help confirm the correct items during the first week of class. PPE and tools are listed, and you can buy items individually or purchase a welding kit through Industrial Source.
