Bachelor's in History
Introduction
History is a Bachelor program taught at State University of New York at Binghamton, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The BA in History explores human societies over time and across the globe. Students study topics that include the history of the modern U.S. and the history of ancient China, with courses addressing women and gender history, imperialism, environmental history, and the history of science, technology and medicine. The curriculum supports students to conduct historical research and to think critically about how historical knowledge is produced and shared.
Students take a senior seminar advised by a history professor while they conduct their own historical research. History majors can also pursue independent study in a research area of interest with consultation from a faculty member. Students may submit history papers to the student-edited Binghamton Journal of History for publication, enroll in faculty-led study abroad programs, and take part in student research, community engaged and service learning, or an internship for Harpur credit at a local museum or research library.
