Introduction
Communication Sciences & Disorders is a Bachelor program taught at Stonehill College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (4 years) options.
The Communication Sciences & Disorders program at Stonehill College prepares students for graduate school in communication science disorders, speech-language pathology, and audiology. The program also includes an introduction to the science of hearing, covering transmission and measurement of sound to the human ear, anatomy, physiology, and neurology of hearing mechanisms, screening and measurement of hearing, and audiogram interpretation. It investigates normal children’s acquisition of sounds, structures, and meanings of their native language.
The program is an undergraduate major and minor offered as an on-campus program, with internship and clinical experience opportunities through ASHA-certified professionals. It also includes an arrangement for preferred admission of a select number of Stonehill students into Northeastern University’s Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program, and a Skyhawk Accelerated Dual Degree option described as allowing a bachelor’s and master’s from Stonehill College in five years.
