Automotive Technology
Introduction
Automotive Technology is a program taught at Tyler Junior College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
The Automotive Technology program at Tyler Junior College prepares students to diagnose, repair, and maintain modern vehicles. Students learn to work on computerized engine systems, hybrid technology, electrical systems, drivelines, steering and suspension, brakes, and automatic transmissions through classroom instruction and extensive hands-on training.
Training takes place in an automotive lab that operates like a professional repair shop. Students work with a fleet of more than 40 late model vehicles, including hybrid and diesel models, and have opportunities to work on their own vehicle as part of their training.
The program is designed for students who want to enter the workforce as automotive technicians, with preparation for roles in dealerships, independent repair shops, fleet maintenance operations, and specialty automotive businesses.
