Introduction

Computer Science is a Masters program taught at Victor Valley College, USA. Intake: Fall, Spring. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time (1–2 years) options.

The Master of Science in Computer Science develops skills in research and development in computing. Students increase the depth and breadth of knowledge through additional coursework, and develop research skills through challenging projects and a thesis with a supervisor. Many research projects involve collaboration with supervisors and groups of students while pursuing an individual research project.

Students can choose one of three program routes: thesis, project, or course. Across the routes, students select at least one course from each of three topic areas in computer science: application, systems, and theory. Courses take place in-person at Acadia University. Students in all three options may enrol in the Co-op Education program, which includes two four-month placements and is in addition to required coursework.

Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements for admission in Computer Science at Victor Valley College for all applicants (Domestic or International) are:

  • program specific academic requirment set by Victor Valley College.
  • English Language OR any other language requirments as set by Victor Valley College as pre-requiste for admission in Computer Science.

Note: Please check the university website in the link below.

For admission to Acadia University:

  • An Honours degree or a four-year bachelor’s degree from an approved university. Candidates possessing a major in a field other than that of their graduate program will normally be required to take sufficient undergraduate courses. Special consideration may be given to those candidates wishing to change from one undergraduate field to a related graduate one.
  • At least a B- average (70%) in the courses taken in the major field in the last two undergraduate years (or 60h) of university study, including coursework in undergraduate degree(s) and any graduate work completed. Applicants to all MEd programs must have at least a B average (73-76%) in their final two years of full-time equivalent (60h) university study, including coursework in undergraduate degree(s) and any graduate work completed.
  • Review the applicable graduate program website to learn about faculty research specializations and connect with possible research supervisors before applying to see what resources are available to you. Several programs have a requirement to identify/secure a willing Acadia supervisor prior to applying as a key piece of entry/admission.
  • Admission is highly competitive, and the number of students admitted each cycle or year may vary depending on the applicant pool and resource availability.
  • Possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
  • Our programs are small to reflect our university tradition of personal contact and individual attention; unfortunately, we cannot accept all applicants, and excellent students are often not accepted. All prospective students are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on resource availability and evidence o
