Political Science
Introduction
Political Science is a Bachelor program taught at Wabash College, USA. The program is offered in campus-based modes with full-time options.
Political Science at Wabash College examines how people are governed, including who makes political decisions, how decisions are made, and the consequences for representation and access to political power. Students study political leaders, political theorists, and political scientists, and conduct their own research. Coursework covers four main areas of the discipline: American politics, comparative politics, political theory, and international relations. Training includes research methodology and statistics.
Students gain experience through hands-on projects and activities, and through immersion trips around the United States and the world to observe politics first-hand and network with political leaders. Faculty support opportunities such as immersion trips, community-engaged learning, and co-curricular activities. The department also offers funding for public service internships, research, and conference travel.
The program supports students through Wabash’s Pre-Law Program, which includes professional development opportunities and an annual Moot Court program where students practice arguing a legal case before lawyers and judges. Graduates pursue careers including roles in law, education, diplomacy, judging, journalism, and public service. Some also work as political advisors and analysts, civil servants, consultants, and in intelligence-related roles.
