Overview

SDU offers a limited number of scholarships for highly qualified non-EU/EEA citizens. The Danish government offers a limited number of scholarships through the Danish Government Scholarship programme, described by SDU as recognising the investment overseas students make during their education. SDU states the scholarships are available only for specific programmes offered on SDU campuses in Vejle and Sønderborg.

The scholarship is for non-EU/EEA citizens enrolling in specified master programmes at the SDU campus in Sønderborg or bachelor programmes at the SDU campus in Vejle. SDU lists the relevant programmes by degree level and field of study. If an applicant is eligible to receive the Danish State Grant, SDU says they cannot be considered for this scholarship.

SDU says selection is based on results in the online admission test (uniTEST) and an online interview for bachelor applicants, and on bachelor grade point average plus an online interview for master applicants. SDU explains that scholarship support is a tuition fee waiver subject to completing satisfactory academic progress each semester, using a guideline of completing at least 30 ECTS per semester; otherwise funding may be discontinued for the following semester.

Eligibility

  • Non-EU/EEA citizenship
  • Enrolling in one of the listed master programmes at SDU campus in Sønderborg or listed bachelor programmes at SDU campus in Vejle

  • Master level: application must include all necessary documentation at the time of submission
  • Master level: if applying to more than one SDU programme, scholarship consideration applies only if the master’s programme is the applicant’s highest priority
  • Master level: application must include the listed items in the application submission package (including a deposit fee receipt and specified academic documents)
  • To keep the scholarship: demonstrate satisfactory academic progress each semester, using a guideline of completing at least 30 ECTS per semester
