Barbara Huber Scholarship

The Barbara Huber Scholarship Program is funded by the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law. It provides support for a research stay at the Institute for particularly innovative research projects that contribute significantly to scientific progress through new perspective, questions, or findings in the subject areas of Criminology, Public Law, or Criminal Law.

The program is open to outstanding academics from foreign research institutions. It includes research projects in Criminology, Public Law, or Criminal Law, and each department may award one Barbara Huber Scholarship per calendar year.

Selection is based on the applicant’s status as an outstanding academic from a foreign research institution and the proposed research project’s described innovation and expected contribution to scientific progress. Applicants must submit a research project description and supporting materials listed in the application requirements.

Scholarship support is for a research stay at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law for a period of two to a maximum of six months. Scholarship holders must have health insurance and provide proof. In addition to the monthly scholarship, a grant can be awarded for expenses connected with participation in an academic event or further research activities in Germany or other (European) countries.
