DAAD Masters Scholarships in Public Policy and Good Governance

The DAAD Helmut-Schmidt-Programme (known as Public Policy and Good Governance) supports future leaders from developing and emerging countries (see list of countries), who want to promote democracy and social justice in their home regions. The programme is funded by the Federal Foreign Office and offers the opportunity to obtain a master’s degree in fields of study that are of particular importance for social, political, and economic development in the countries of origin of these young professionals.

Under the principles of Good Governance, highly qualified graduates with a first academic degree are being educated in political science, law, economics and administration and prepared for future leading positions in the Global South. Application is limited to applicants whose status and/or country are included in the list enabled for submitting an application.

• Must be a future leader from developing and emerging countries (see list of countries)
• Must want to promote democracy and social justice in home regions
• Highly qualified graduates with a first academic degree
• Intended study fields include political science, law, economics, and administration
• Applicant status and/or country must be included in the results list to enable application; if status and/or country is not included, the applicant cannot apply for the scholarship programme
